Five trainees at Lanyon Bowdler are celebrating after becoming fully qualified solicitors - including one who is the first to achieve the honour through the law firm’s elite apprenticeship scheme.
Calum Eagles, Emily Poyner, Nicole Cousins, Georgia Rowney and Chloe Michie all completed their training contracts with Lanyon Bowdler and have now taken up posts in their chosen practice areas within the firm.
Brian Evans, Lanyon Bowdler managing partner, said: “Hard work and dedication have been key to our five newly-qualified solicitors achieving the next important stage of their careers. Their commitment during the training contracts process has never faltered and they are excellent role models for those who follow them.
“We are proud of our training record at Lanyon Bowdler and feel it is extremely important to provide the opportunities for young people setting out on what we hope will be promising legal careers. They are our lawyers of the future and will play important roles in the ongoing success of the firm.
“Calum joined us as a paralegal and is the first person at the firm to qualify as a solicitor through our apprenticeship scheme. This is a fantastic achievement and a great milestone for both Calum and the firm.
“We’re incredibly pleased to see his hard work and commitment rewarded, and wish him every success as he begins the next chapter as a qualified solicitor with the commercial property team in Shrewsbury.
“Emily is also based in Shrewsbury, a member of the corporate and commercial team, who is able to assist clients with a variety of corporate transactions including share sales and purchases, asset sales and purchases, share buybacks, and company reorganisations, alongside general commercial matters.
“Nicole has a law degree from the University of Cambridge. She moved back to Shropshire to complete her LPC at the University of Chester campus, and joined the firm as a trainee solicitor in September 2024. She is a member of our dispute resolution team and works out of our Telford office.
“Georgia has qualified into the firm’s clinical negligence team and is based in Hereford. She joined Lanyon Bowdler in November 2022 as a legal secretary and became a legal support assistant in the family department the following year before commencing her training contract in March 2024.
“Chloe joined the firm as a legal support assistant in the private client team before starting her training contract. Prior to joining Lanyon Bowdler, she worked for a local development company as a paralegal working on various types of deals. Chloe is part of our commercial and agricultural property team working in Telford.”
