Burlton Advisory is a Shropshire PR and communications consultancy, based in the village of Burlton, north of Shrewsbury. It helps businesses from Whitchurch to Ludlow and from Oswestry to Telford get noticed, win work and look after their reputation. It covers every sector, from retail, hospitality and food to manufacturing, professional services and charities. Independent businesses and family firms get the same attention as established regional employers.

The founder, David Bass, left Shropshire as a young man to build a career in communications. He spent the next twenty years in London, New York and East Africa, working with governments, international organisations and businesses of every size. In 2026 he came home, bringing that experience back to Shrewsbury and Shropshire, the town and county he grew up in. Local business runs in the family: his mother owns an independent shop in the town centre, and his father is an adviser to Shrewsbury BID.

The work is practical. Getting noticed might mean turning a launch, an anniversary or a contract win into coverage in the local, trade or national press. Winning work might mean a sharper website, a stronger tender or a more confident presence on LinkedIn. Looking after a reputation might mean helping an owner explain a sale, a succession or a difficult decision to staff and customers. And when something goes wrong and a journalist calls, it means calm, confidential advice from someone who knows how these stories unfold.

Clients deal with David directly, from the first conversation to the finished job. There are no junior handovers and no agency overheads built into the fee. Support is shaped to fit, whether that is a single piece of advice, a defined project or ongoing help each month. The first step is a conversation about what the business needs and the budget it has in mind.
