A dynamic team of highly skilled engineers and lightweighting design specialists, led by Richard Homden, son of the founder. We are passionate about using cutting edge technology to solve complex engineering problems associated with the manufacture of components, welding and assembly.

We specialise in metal pressing in different formats and materials, everything from high strength alloys to stainless steel, and now HFQ © aluminum which allows complex shapes to be formed in a single press operation. We offer a complementary range of surface finishing technologies; we also collect and deliver using our own fleet of HGV vehicles.

SDE Lightweight Engineering has evolved from being a small local pressing company started fifty years ago, to become the leading manufacturer of pressings and assemblies in the UK. We are very proud of our reputation for quality and service and our World Class engineering apprenticeship programme.
