The team at Staffordshire Chamber of Commerce is celebrating after winning the UK Chamber of the Year award, sponsored by Quest, at the British Chambers of Commerce’s annual Chamber Business Awards 2021.

The event, now in its 17th year, is one of the showpieces of the business calendar, highlighting the role of business and Chambers of Commerce in delivering growth and prosperity for the UK and local communities.

Judges praised Staffordshire Chamber for the speed and agility with which they moved to support their membership, and the wider business community, in responding to the impact of Covid. The Chamber showed an immensely positive and engaging attitude towards helping firms through a hugely challenging period.

Sarah Howard, Chair of the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) said:

“Chambers of Commerce across the UK have played an absolutely vital role in supporting their business communities throughout the incredibly testing times they’ve faced over the past year. There was so much great work on show in this category, but Staffordshire just pipped it thanks to their incredibly flexible approach in responding to the needs of their members during the Covid crisis.”

Steve Charles, Head of Business Partnerships at Quest, said: “Staffordshire Chamber offer an excellent range of services for members and have shown great flexibility in developing that offer. They also clearly demonstrated real creativity and a genuine passion to help members, always being prepared to take a risk, if they needed to, in order to support their members. They were also very strong on advocating for members and, when all things were considered, they proved worthy winners. Congratulations!”
