Shropshire Chamber of Commerce brought a Halloween theme to a speed networking session at the latest of its popular expo events.

The ‘Connectin Business’ event, held at Shrewsbury Town Football Club, showcased a broad selection of local businesses and offered a range of networking opportunities.

The sold-out exhibition also included a one-hour ‘speed networking’ session, which was given a Halloween theme by the Chamber events team.

Kelly Riedel, the Chamber’s events and training manager, said: “Our autumn expo is always one of the highlights of our events calendar, and this one was no exception.

“It was great to see a mixture of members, patrons, and many new faces keen to connect and do business with other Shropshire employers.

“Companies use these events as a perfect opportunity to raise their profile, generate sales leads and make new contacts – it’s always a brilliant opportunity to meet so many Shropshire businesses all under one roof.”

Before the expo opens, a breakfast meeting was held for exhibitors, when the team from The HR Dept looked ahead to some of the upcoming employment law changes.

Shropshire Chamber has a busy events programme over the coming weeks, including an Evening Social at the famous Feathers Hotel in Ludlow on November 7, and the annual meeting and Christmas lunch at Hawkstone Hall near Wem on December 6.

It is also supporting a ‘meet the buyer’ morning being held at Telford College on October 29, to increase the chances of local businesses winning work on some of Shropshire’s and Telford & Wrekin’s biggest construction projects.

The next Shropshire Chamber expo is due to be held on April 10, at the Mercure Telford Centre Hotel.
