Shropshire Chamber of Commerce has appointed a series of ‘ambassadors’ to help members make the most of their network club experience.

Otis Powell from Severn Mortgage and Protect Limited and Chris Henderson from New Era Printing are supporting the Telford club, with Fran Ash from Ash Plumbing & Bathrooms, Nigel Ryan of EVC Solutions, and Steve Oliver from Throgmorton Associates Wealth Management playing the same role at Shrewsbury.

Ella Preece, the Chamber’s marketing co-ordinator, said: “Our breakfast networking sessions continue to grow, so we have chosen some of our dedicated members to step into ambassador roles, helping others make the most of their networking journey.

“Whether you're new to networking and want to buddy up, or just looking for a friendly face to connect with, our ambassadors are here to support you every step of the way.”

Shropshire Chamber’s Network Clubs in Telford, Shrewsbury and Oswestry continue to be a huge success.  This year the Chamber has held nearly 50 breakfast club events, welcoming a total of around 1,800 guests.

Chief executive Ruth Ross said: “Networking allows people to grow their career prospects but as business owners building relationships may give your business the chance to break into new markets.

“Our network clubs are highly regarded by many businesses across the county with a strong membership base – and our trio are excited by the chance to get more closely involved, and help them to continue to thrive.”

A maximum of three businesses from the same sector are permitted to join each network club, ensuring a good variety of representation.

Meetings start at 7:45am, and everyone in attendance has the opportunity to promote their business in a 60-second pitch. One member is also invited to deliver a more detailed 10-minute presentation about their business, decided on a rota basis.
