Shropshire Chamber of Commerce will be looking to ‘inform and educate’ local specialists when its Professionals Partnership returns next month.

The group, which meets quarterly, is aimed at advisers and consultants working in sectors such as law, accountancy, finance, PR, marketing, recruitment, insurance, and other professional services.

The next breakfast meeting is being held at Shrewsbury Town Football Club on September 18, from 7.30am to 10am. Places can be booked through the Chamber website, or by emailing This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

Guest speaker will be John Cordrey of London-based Foresight Group, who will talk about current trends in the private equity market.

Kelly Riedel, head of member success at the Chamber, said: “The core mission of our Professionals Partnership is supporting the businesses and individuals whose work is based around advising, supporting, and collaborating with other businesses.

“The format is designed for those who generate business through relationships and referrals, and for professionals whose roles involve cross‑referring clients and building trusted networks across the county.”

Paul Bennett, partner at law firm Bennett Briegal and chair of the Partnership, said: “Clients rarely instruct a professional service firm by chance; they instruct a person they trust within that firm, often as another professional knows and trusts them.

“This is true of law, accountancy, finance, and other advisory services, such as PR, marketing, recruitment, and insurance. This is why professional services remain relationship‑driven and why the Professionals Partnership matters to professionals and suppliers to the professional services sector.

“Our events aim to inform and educate service businesses through a talk each quarter so that each attendee can leave with something of practical use, and to develop and maintain a network of professional relationships across the county for the benefit of the local economy.

“If you advise clients for a living, this is where the people who refer to you are meeting in Shropshire.”
