Shropshire Chamber of Commerce will be shining the spotlight on wellbeing and mental health at a special event to mark International Men’s Day.
Meeting Point House in Telford town centre will host the session from 10.30am to 1.30pm on November 19, where the theme is ‘The Future is Everyone’.
The event will celebrate the positive contribution men make to their workplaces, families and communities, while highlighting the importance of wellbeing and creating supportive, inclusive environments where people can thrive.
Grace Bywater, Shropshire Chamber’s events and training manager, said: “Our guests will have the chance to join a broad range of local business leaders for an engaging and thought-provoking event.”
Guest speakers on the day will include Gareth Jones from In-Comm Training who will discuss the role employers, mentors and leaders can play in supporting and inspiring young men to succeed in work and life.
Colleen Mullarkey, founder of Nourish Holistic Wellbeing, will explore men’s wellbeing, resilience, mental health, and the role businesses can play in creating supportive workplace cultures.
The third guest speaker will be Jack Clements, from McPhillips, who will share the company’s commitment to supporting men’s mental health and community wellbeing, including the impact of funding local mental health and veteran support projects.
Wayne Jenson, chief executive of Meeting Point House, will also explain the role of the town centre venue and its community facilities.
Grace said: “Whether you’re a business owner, manager, HR professional or an employee, the event will offer practical takeaways and fresh perspectives on supporting wellbeing, developing future talent and fostering positive workplace cultures.
“As well as hearing from our dynamic guest speakers, delegates will also have the opportunity to connect with fellow professionals, ask questions, and continue the conversations over a buffet lunch.”
