Community Resource announces the launch of the three-year Employability and Enterprise (E&E) Programme, funded by the Lintel Trust. The programme aims to improve the life chances of young adults aged 14-30 in Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin, providing them with the skills and support needed to build brighter futures.
The E&E Programme is a collaboration between Community Resource and local partners Shrewsbury Town FC Foundation, Shropshire Youth Association (SYA), and Shropshire Youth Support Trust (SYST). Each partner contributes their expertise, ensuring holistic, person-centred support tailored to individual needs.
Programme Highlights:
- Community Resource: Offers personalised one-to-one support for young adults aged 18-30, including volunteering placements, training courses, and valuable work experience.
- Shrewsbury Town FC Foundation: Runs the "Game Changer" programme, inspiring young people aged 14-18 to develop life skills, leadership training, and gain coaching qualifications, creating pathways to careers in sports.
- Shropshire Youth Association (SYA): Conducts life skills sessions for SEND young people aged 18-25, as well as programmes for young parents and BAME communities.
- Shropshire Youth Support Trust (SYST): Delivers the "Enterprise Bootcamp," helping young NEETs aged 18-25 develop entrepreneurship skills, alongside mental health and well-being support.
“This programme is a major investment in the future of our young people,” said Bev Baxter, CEO of Community Resource. “Thanks to Lintel Trust and our dedicated partners, we’re giving the next generation the tools to lead independent, fulfilling lives.”
The E&E Programme is seeking young people interested in developing life skills, volunteering, gaining work experience, or starting a business. Organisations looking for volunteers are also encouraged to contact Community Resource to discuss registering opportunities.
