Shropshire Fostering is actively seeking strategic partnerships with leaders from the business community in the County.

Employers are invited to collaborate on initiatives that promote the importance of keeping Shropshire siblings in need of our care together in Shropshire

At the Business Leaders’ Breakfast at The Shrewsbury Club last month, Fostering Service Manager, Erika Ower highlighted the urgent need for more foster carers in Shropshire and, in an onstage interview with Carl Jones, discussed how local businesses can play a pivotal role in supporting this cause.

Erika explained that businesses can apply to become officially recognised as Fostering Friendly employers at no cost. This status provides numerous benefits, including enhanced corporate social responsibility and positive community engagement.

By becoming Fostering Friendly, businesses will spread awareness about the importance of fostering

“We believe that fostering is a community effort, and local businesses can make an impact by supporting foster carers in their employment,” Erika said.

“In turn, becoming a Fostering Friendly employer demonstrates a commitment to the well-being of Shropshire's biggest family.”

As a not-for-profit organisation, Shropshire Fostering dedicates its resources to supporting the children in its care. Currently, they have over 700 children looked after by Shropshire Council, and numbers across the UK have been steadily growing.

Businesses can make a significant impact by partnering with Shropshire Fostering, gaining promotional value through Shropshire Council’s extensive reach, including a Facebook page with 38,000 followers.

By joining forces with Shropshire Fostering, employers can make a meaningful difference in the lives of local children and families, while also enhancing their own corporate social responsibility efforts.
