Have you received an email offering you the chance to buy the Shropshire Chamber of Commerce membership and distribution list?

If you have, please DON’T RESPOND TO IT. Report it as spam, and don’t click on any of the hyperlinks.

This email is not from us, nor is it sent with our knowledge or permission. It appears to be a phishing email to gain access to your personal details.

We’ve reported it on multiple occasions, but are aware that several Shropshire Chamber members are still being contacted.

Keep a lookout for it – usually from a business sales executive calling themselves Avery – and don’t click on any of the content.

Phishing emails often contain malicious links that lead to fake websites designed to steal your information.

They are sent by scammers, and interacting in any way can confirm that your email address is active... leading to more spam.

If your email provider has a spam or junk folder, move the email there to help them identify and filter out similar emails.

Many email providers also have a "report phishing" option that helps them identify and block malicious emails. If they do, use it.

And remember, if you do want to find out about Shropshire Chamber of Commerce’s members, our directory is available free of charge – you only have to click here to find it.
